| Was there recently and overdose death and then police activity at that school to take away the dealer? |
| Say what now? |
Oh, I hope not. That's very sad if true. Middle School?!?!? |
| I'm hoping the rumor isn't true. |
| you all have blinder son if you don't think drugs are in middle schools. |
WMS parent here. Um, no. |
| I believe an 8th grader was taken out in handcuffs |
+1. I went to Williamsburg in the 90s and some students were drinking, smoking pot, using LSD, taking pills from their parents' supply, and having sex then. LSD is probably not as prevalent anymore, but I doubt much else has changed. |
Op didn't ask whether there were drugs, s/he asked whether someone od'd. |
| I heard about the overdose. From friends with kids at WMS/YHS, I've heard heroin makes the rounds. |
|
WMS parent - yes to the overdose. We hope that he will recover quickly. IDK about the police activity.
The unexpected death was at W-L high school. Not sure if cause of death has been determined. And my condolences to the parents of the deceased. |
| WHAT? I have a student who will enter WMS in the fall and hadn't heard anything about this. |
SO The overdose was at WMS and there was a separate unexpected death at WL. Very sad. A high school friend and a college friend across the hall both had brain aneurysms and dies. No foul play. College friend had been complaining of neck pain a few days before, but thought it was pulled muscle from new weight lifting routine. |

WMS parent again - I haven't heard of H at WMS, I've heard that it's pills from personal prescriptions or taken from home medicine cabinets that are sold to other students. And apparently the OD was on these types of pills.
Maybe our new interim principal will speak out on this issue. Or she's too busy writing about fidget spinners and the kids that walk to the Lee-Harrison shopping center after school. Bigger problems here, lady! |
I just watched a documentary on HBO the other night about the opioid epidemic. All the subjects started off taking prescription medication; all wound up addicted to heroin once they could no afford the pills. It was terrifying. These were normal people. One was a mother, probably similar demographically to most DCUM posters, who got hooked after her third pregnancy/c-section. She went from a totally loving, devoted wife and mother to a heroin junkie, within a couple years. |
