1. What kind or charitable thing have you done this week?
2. Who is the kindest or giving person you know?
3. How are you teaching your children to be kind?
4. Does religion play a role in any of the above?

p.s. this is an extremely scientific poll!

Lots of kind things but charitably I am making a meal for a shelter this weekend and chaperoned an event (that my kids didn't even attend) as a favor to a friend

Kindest person is a neighborhood mom I know

Teaching children to be kind in their actions and being more empathetic to others. They also are involved in charitable out reach regularly.

Yes, religion plays a great deal on our outlook and actions. I'd like to think that we would be equally charitable if not for the encouragement of our church, but in all honesty he we usually take advantage of many opportunities they present rather than plan our own things.

1) Donated food, money, and stuff to the school this week. Do a lot for a relative with dementia.
2) Sadly, can't say anyone - husband is probably the kindest if I had to choose but that is family so I don't consider it part of your question.
3) They help with everything I do. Show by example.
4) None, they are learning to do the right thing without religion. They don't have any concept of God or religion.

1) I have been helping a suicidal friend get through the day.
2) There are several, I wouldn't name just one.
3) By example and by direct instruction
4) It gives them examples of people besides their parents espousing similar values and world views. It teaches them that everyone has worth and dignity.

I have done lots of things to donate to charity, but nowadays I am planning to visit Africa for participating in the mission humanitaire program to help people at abroad on my friend's suggestion. As he likes to do a lot of charity work and he is real a lot giving person. For my children, I take him to nearby orphanages to spend time with the children at the orphanage, which proves to be a good lesson to be taught for living a good life.
