We took our son to Mexico when he was three months for my brother's wedding. We didn't have any problems and our pediatrican didn't have any concerns with him traveling either. We just made sure he wore a hat for sun protection when he was outside and of course he was lathered in sun screen. We went swimming in the pool often and the only problem we had was the temperature of the pool (it was cooler than what he had previously experienced). But after a few minutes he would acclamate. We didn't travel with our stroller and just used a Baby Bjorn. In hindsight, we would have brought the stroller because it would have been more comfortable for him when sleeping while we were out at dinner. That's the only thing I would do differently. Hope this helps, have fun!

Just as an FYI, babies under 6 months are not supposed to wear sunscreen. But you can buy bathing suits at places like Buy Buy Baby and LL Bean that offer lots of UV protection.

OP, if you do it please post about it. DC just turned 2 and we are contemplating taking her along on a trip this winter ... we went alone last winter and took her the winter before when she was 9 mos, and that was a disaster!

We took our 20 month old to an all inclusive in Mexico and had a great time.
