Oyster in Woodley Park

Anonymous
Hi,
We're considering buying a house in Woodley Park, but only if Oyster is really a place we can send our child. We're relatively new to the area and I've heard things about merging with another school. Any info would be much appreciated.

We will, sadly, be leaving Woodley Park when kindergarten comes around. We moved here because of the school, but since the changes and merge with Adams, we've decided to go. We moved here to have our children attend a neighborhood school. Adams is not our neighborhood school. I do not want them going to Adams for 4-8, which brings up another criticism- we don't want them to be in a middle school. I do not want my kids going to Adams when they are 10 yrs old with a bunch of 14 yr olds! We want a prek-6 environment, which I can't believe they got rid of!!! I've also heard very very bad things about the after school program.
I'm very sad about the changes and wish they would switch it back (no one is happy about the changes). There are other great schools in NW that will get our support. I really think they're ruining an innovative program by doing this.

I've heard great things about Oyster... a few on this board. Anyone else have experience?
