| I may have a few hours to roam about NYC by myself this weekend. I'm there for a wedding Saturday/Sunday. Any ideas or suggestions on what to do? The only thing I can think of is MOMA, which I love. Or going on a photo tour with my dslr. Or shopping? Or renting a bike through Central Park? Ok I guess I have a few ideas already. But would welcome some more. Thanks!! |
| I should add that I'm a mom of two young kids and haven't time to myself in years. So this is going to be a treat for myself. |

A long walk in Central Park or a theatre matinee!! Or a concert in Lincoln Center.
I envy you, OP!!! |

Lucky you. Native NYer now in DMV area.
So many department stores- Bloomies (Lex and 59); Saks (5th Ave and 49th Street); Macys (with a whole floor of shoes) (34th and Broadway) Museums- Metropolitan Museum of Art, Frick (also art); 9/11 Memorial (which I heard is very well done) You can go to the top of the Empire State Building or Rock Center I miss just walking around- so much to see. |
| Something where you can people-watch. |
| A walk along the river on the west side. I love the Christopher Street Pier. |
|
I'd prefer to go to the 9/11 memorial by myself, as opposed to with a DH or kids. Take the time you need to reflect and remember.
Then go for a walk along the Hudson river. |
| Leisurely morning stroll through Central Park and enjoy a real NY bagel (everything with light cream cheese!) on the park bench, then quiet reflection on the art at the Met, followed by macarons and tea at Laduree. |
| High Line walk |
| Eat at a deli? Get a massage? Look around in the NY Public Library or the Cathedral of St. John the Divine? Really depends what you're in the mood for and what you like. Seems like the weather will be good! |
| Go around town with a photographer https://www.jamesmaherphotography.com/new_york_photo_tours_and_street_photography_workshops/ |
| Find the best pizza in the city, but eat all other contenders along the way. |
| Shopping! I'd window shop, and also really shop. Chances are your kids don't enjoy shoe shopping! Bring a backpack for your haul! |
Shopping in the est village - near Bleeker and Christopher - and Soho. Or walk down Madison Ave from 90 to the 50s - such luxury! And I second the bagel! (But splurge for regular cream cheese )

| I've always wanted to do the SATCHEL bus tour. Every time o go to NYC it's with family and I'm too busy with kid activities. The bus tour would be relaxing and entertaining |
