My son is almost 14-months and his daycare is transitioning his class to 1 nap (a bit early for me but I don't have any control) and since this started last week he is literally only napping for 1 hour tops! He has always been a great sleeper and used to go down for his morning nap between 9-10 and slept for 1.5-2 hours and then an afternoon nap between 1:30-2:30 for a 1-1.5 hour nap. His daycare is putting the children down at 12 with the expectation they will nap for 2.5-3 hours. Anyone else ever see the reverse occur -everyone told us it would be wonderful because everything would be consolidated. I am concerned this is way to early for him and this is his way of communicating this. Any advice is appreciated! |
How long has it been going on? I'd give it a week or so and see how he does. |
DS transitioned to the toddler room at about that age, and went to the one afternoon nap with no problem at all. It took less than a week for him to transition. It does make life easier when you don't have to worry about the morning nap. |
My daughter was the same way. It took a bit of time, but eventually she would take a long mid-day nap. Until that happened, we moved the bedtime up about 30 minutes. |
