| Please console me and tell me I'm not the only person who looks 40 pounds heavier with 10x as much cellulite in photos from races or taken while I'm running. I thought I was looking pretty good lately. I saw a few photos from a race I did and I want to jump off a bridge, I'm so disgusted. Why do they always look so terrible?! |
| Frequently because the photographers are shooting from below you (why do they kneel down)??? |
| Ugh. Also: I never never want to see a video of myself running. My gait is just weird. |
You are not alone! I almost stopped running races in shorts because of this until I realized that I would rather ignore the photos and not be hot (temperature wise). My favorite is also when they wait for you at the top of a hill so everyone is photographed looking like they're about to drop dead. I have one or two decent photos from YEARS of races. Do not despair!! |
| Honestly, VERY FEW people look good in those photos. I HATE them of myself and I will never understand why some women I know buy them and actually post them. They are most unflattering. |
| I'm with you, OP. I have never seen a flattering picture of myself from a race. Even if I am aware of the camera and attempt to have a normal expression, my lower body always manages to look weird due to my gait. |
OP here. Me too! It seems they never get me at the part of my gait that looks sort of strong or like you see in professional type ads with runners--the knee drive or the "float." They ALWAYS get me at the point where my knee appears to be buckling below me and my back foot hasn't risen far off the ground yet. Which is apparently prime time for the "cellulite ripple effect" to be occurring! |
