Anyone lottery in to 6th grade at Kenmoor?

Curious to see if the additional TAG center at Tasker actually allowed folks to get into Kenmoor via the lottery (as opposed to continuity from TAG ES) this year.

What grades are going to Tasker? Will it start out with 6th, 7th and 8th grade program or just 6th grade next year?

It'd be nice to free up more spaces for all grade levels....

Sixth grade only for SY2017 but then building to the other grades in subsequent years. There are supposed to be 60 seats for 6th grade this coming school year.

I know a lot of Heather Hills feeding area is in the new Tasker Zone. I would guess most of Bowie. If you go to the School Finder site you can type in your address and see. I looked at a random house in Bowie and under Middle Schools it listed Tasker for 6th and Kenmoor for 7-8. You could look up your address and see that way.

ETA: In a non-scientific search it looks like most of the new Tasker attendance zone is pulled from the last years Kenmoor attendance zone. So if you were zoned for Greenbelt or Walker Mill you are probably still zoned for them. If you live in the more eastern end of last years Kenmoor zone you are likely in the Tasker zone.

We got in. We just attended the ice cream social they had there for incoming tag 6 and 7th graders.

FYI- Everyone who was eligible and entered the lottery to Kenmoor TAG for 6th grade got in.

Any kenmoor parents? How is the first couple of days going? My son is actually loving it and it seems like a pretty smooth transition from his zoned elementary school to a tag middle school.

My daughter attends next year but i am glad to hear updates of your experience at Kenmoor. Please send an update a little later in the school year as to how your son views the program i would love to hear.

Today, there was a gun case and ammunition found on the grounds of kenmoor, in a backpack. That and tons of fighting and lock downs due to the autism program, and I’m pretty fed up. No different than the zoned elementary schools in pg.
