| I know questions like this are posted often, but hotels and VRBOs change all the time. Heading to NYC for 2-3 nights in May, over a weekend. Kids ages 7/10/13. Hoping to spend less than $250/night on lodging; two kids could share a bed if need be; the third could have a rollaway. Recommendations for favorite hotels/VRBOs/AirBnBs in this price range? |
I would look on something like Booking.com if you are going to do hotels - the prices change constantly, but weekends in May are usually pretty cheap compared to weekdays or holidays, etc. since people start heading out of town on weekends once the weather is nice. Under $250/night is very low, though, for NYC. I've never stayed in a place that cheap in the city and we stay in NYC quite often. |

This website is a good place to start to find hotels for 3+ kids
https://sleeps5.com/destinations/north-america/united-states/new-york-city/ We've stayed at the Affinia hotels before, but they might be over your $250 limit |
Try hotels tonight, or expedia the day before you leave. 250 a night for a large room is tight. |
| Courtyard Marriott in Jersey City. Large rooms with pullout couches. Pool. Right next to the PATH train. |
Download Hotel Tonight app. Stay in Murray Hill area. |

This is the OP. Thanks for the sleeps5.com site-- that will be very useful!
PP, how long does it take to get into the city on the PATH train from the Jersey City Marriott? |
10 minutes. It is brand new at the Grove Street PATH station. Are the rates less than $250/night there? Also, there is a Hyatt at Exchange Place PATH station which is one stop closer to NYC and, thus, takes only about 7-8 minutes into WTC PATH station in NYC. But rates are usually no lower than $299/night. |
| look at the hampton inn chains, many offer breakfast which is an additional savings!! |
And remember to figure round trip fares for 5 everyday. |
| Check out NYLO on the Upper West Side. Great location near the subway, great neighborhood and very family friendly. You could get a room with two beds for around $250 or so depending on the dates. |
| +1 on the Hampton Inn. There is one on 8th avenue (in the fifties and forties)- great location. Can't vouch for hotel but I used to work nearby. |
