I've tried both the Arbonned and Pure Haven Essentials varieties for our almost 11 year old boy and when he uses those he STINKS.
DH bough him Old Spice deoderant like he uses and it works but I'm cringing and the chemicals, etc. |
| The natural stuff does not work at all. |
+1. It's bad enough when adult women walk around reeking of BO. Please don't put that on your kid. And yes. If you wear natural deoderant, you stink. No one will tell you. I have a close friend who wears it. She asked me point blank if she smelled of BO last summer. I lied and said "of course not". |
| The natural stuff doesn't work. Your child will suffer far more from other kids making fun of his stench than he will from the chemicals in deodorant. He is probably absorbing more chemicals from his clothes anyway. |

I am an extremely lazy, inactive woman and natural deodorants don't work on me and I haven't broken a sweat since 1994.
Get him a good deodorant. |
|
Tom's of Maine Natural Deo actually works quite well
|
| Arm and Hammer natural or Tom's. |
| LOL Old Spice. Buy the poor kid some axe and be done with this. |

If he showers and changes his clothes daily, there shouldn't be such a bad smell through the course of a day. Does he have a healthy diet?
|
This thinking is why so many people stink! |
No, it doesn't work - or at least it didn't work for me. |
+2 Tried it on myself and kids. We eat well... organic, clean food (for that person that commented on diet) and we all take a daily shower. I don't like feeling wet armpits and eventually, there is a smell. None of the natural stuff works... I've tried 'em all, I swear. The best was the "crystal rock" from whole foods. It did ok, but not well enough. |
that or a crap diet and no exercise. |
| Oh Honey, give the kid some proper deodorant. |
