Anyone bought a Stanley Martin home, and if so, what was your experience, quality of their homes, reputation, etc.

I have not purchased a home through Stanley Martin but I work in the homebuilding industry and they have a very good reputation.

They don't take good care of the communities landscape (i.e., lack of sprinkling system) and they raised their HOAS significantly after we purchased. A lot of my neighbors experienced problems with quality of appliances and flooring. In retrospect, I would not buy from Stanley Martin. They try to get up a community so quickly, they skimp on quality.

I am currently purchasing a new home that is being constructed by them, and I am starting to sense some shadiness. I hope that I am wrong about this - there is a few things left to verify. There could be problems with all of their sites. Hopefully I won't come back to websites like this complaining about them in a couple of weeks.
