driving distance. Any favorites? Really appreciate the suggestions!

Annapolis, maybe?

Easton has some nice B&Bs. Charlottesville? Inn at Little Washington? Frederick? kind of depends on your budget and where in the DC area you are (the drive to Frederick is a lot shorter from Rockville than Capitol Hill, for example).

Do you want to be in nature? Or do you want to have a nice hotel room and restaurants nearby?

If it's just one night, why spend time driving?

For you 4-700/night those are my the last two hotels I would stay at. Both have terrible service and mediocre at best food.

Stay at a nicer hotel in DC. Don't know Rory about driving anywhere for one night. If you feel you need to get out of town I would do Keswick in Charlottesville.

Antrim 1844 in Taneytown MD. NEar Gettusburg. Includes breakfast, a afternoon tea, and dinner.

Go to Paris...Paris, Virginia! The Ashby Inn. We stayed in an attic room and loved it.

There is nothing nothing nothing romantic about staying at inns since such as Ashby and Antrim. They all smell, have paper thin walls, and rooms are moder at best.
