What are the lavender-colored blossoms I'm seeing now?

Drove out I-66 and they were along the road. Also in the mountains. A short tree (seems almost a bush). I took a close-up photo but before struggling to link it I hope someone here knows what I'm talking about.

Lilacs?

I think it's a redbud tree.

Maybe a lilac azalea bush.

I looked up images of a redbud tree. The color is the same. From what I can tell the blossom shape is the same, too. I think that's it. Thanks.

One of the prettiest 'weeds' out here is the dwarf veronica plants you see mixed in garden beds. You can spend hours trying to eradicate it, or simply use it as ground cover as I do. Mixed with golden moneywort, it's gorgeous!

Redbud is my favorite too! And it's a native to this area. Win-win.
