It depends on the boy. If he's 95th %ile or higher academically, then St. Anselm's Abbey School is the best in the area and one of the best in the country. St. Anselm's caters to academically gifted boys in grades 6-12. It has a small student body and a very low student/faculty ratio, and is tucked away on a beautiful 40-acre campus near Catholic University. The curriculum is very advanced, but the boys are all capable and they enjoy the challenge and the fast pace, so there's a very cheerful and relaxed mood on campus. They boys are divided into four "houses" for intramural competitions (like Hogwarts) and there are lots of athletic opportunities. It's where I wish I could have gone to school, but sending my son there is the next best thing.
