Family Drive-In Theatre

Has anyone taken their kids to the drive-in theatre near Winchester, VA.

I was thinking of taking my 12 year old twins and was wondering if it's fun and doable in one night from Rockville instead of staying overnight in VA. Any tips?

This is my hometown. The drive in is great! It definitely sells out of space on many nights, online tickets will save you a parking spot but not neccesarily a good one.
If you do both movies it will be quite late coming home The trip is nearly two hours I wouldn't make the trip that late at this point in my life, but maybe you are more of a night owl than I. And I have a free place to stay thight!

It's less than 1 1/2 hours from Bethesda. I think you could do it in one night. Maybe just stay for one movie and not the double feature.

We do it a couple times every summer and always drive back to Arlington after the movie, although we don't stay for the latest show. DH is a real night owl so he drives. It's a lot of fun!
