I thought it would be "cool" for people who have had sucess with IVF to share their 2ww symptoms for ladies like me on the who are reading into every little symptoms!
This is my 2nd IVF cycle using almost the same protocol - just adjusted dosage. However i am experiencing somewhat different symptoms that the first cycle, one of which are hot flashes. Trying not to read too much into it (though i have been googling for the last 3 hours, lol) |
| Difficult to tell because progesterone mimics pregnancy symptoms. |
This. I've had every "symptom" in the book over 10 cycles, never once had a BFP. Thanks, progesterone! |
| Mine were giant, hard boobs and super sore nipples plus cramping (which can also be caused by progesterone). I had spotting for one day and then it went away. I had no idea going into the test, though. I definitely didn't feel THAT different, other than the crazy boobs and super sore injection site. |
| A positive urine home pregnancy test... that was the only difference for me between my 3 failed iuis/2 failed Ivfs and the one positive ivf. Sorry. Symptom spotting doesn't tell you a thing bc of the progesterone and estrogen meds. |
| Agree - you CANT symptom spot. I had sore boobs with both BFP and BFN. cramps with both BFP and BFN. progesterone in oil is SERIOUS stuff. |
| During the TWW I literally had no symptoms other than the bloating caused by the progesterone and sore boobs - always had that though. Nothing was different and then got a bfp. |
| Not getting my period and peeing on a stick that turned positive are the only things that were different. |
| You can't compare with women who are trying naturally. Progesterone in oil mimics pregnancy symptoms |
| OHSS. Late onset, massive amounts of fluid in the abdomen, feeling like a balloon. "Cool" enough? Not to be snarky, but you can't symptom spot, it just doesn't work. |
Me too! The return of OHSS was my only tell. But boy it sucks. |

The various "symptoms" I had during my numerous 2WW periods never correlated with success or failure. Speculating/wishing/worrying about whatever was going on served zero purpose. When I got excited because it felt like i was pregnant I got a negative. When I was sure it was utterly hopeless and I felt nothing I got my only positive.
It's wasted energy IMO. |
| I think it's very individual -- depends on the woman -- you won't know if you're one of those women until you have your BFP |
| Symptom spotting will suck the life out of you. Only thing that got me through was repeating "I'm not pregnant until the beta tells me I am". |
EXACTLY - hopefully you get a wonderful BFP either way!! But when I was sure I was pregnant - I wasn't and when I got my BFPs - I didn't feel any symptoms! |
