| I don't see why all news call it controversial? What is the big deal? |
| So when you're seeing "all news," you're not bothering to read the article or watch the segment? Because they certainly explain why it seen as controversial. |
| Yes, controversial. It needs to be pulled and the ad idiot who created fired. |
| I don't think they could have been more tone deaf than it is even if they purposely sat down to make it that way. It is incredibly tasteless. |
| Kendall who? |
This. Twitter had some pretty epic responses to the commercial as well. |
| If you don't see why it's controversial, I really don't know what to say to you. |
|
I don't get why she would be chosen as the face of the black lives matter movement or the fight against racism when she has never done anything in her personal life to support the movement or even show that she cares about it.
Well, I mean I "get it" of course it's fueled by money and popularity but it's a slap in the face to the people that are really in the communities doing the work and fighting the fight. BTW, this thread probably belongs on the Entertainment page. |
Hey, if you read past the first word of the thread title, you'll find your answer. In English, surnames follow the first name. That proper noun you see- Jenner- is her last name. HTH |

I see what they were going for, and see how it could have almost worked. And then ... it fell flat for me.
I think doing it in a place that looks to me like New Orleans was a good idea because Louisiana is on the top ten list for most obese states so it's reasonable that they'd drink soda there (as opposed to say, Colorado or SF where people are pretty health conscious). But the vague insinuation of BLM left a bad taste in my mouth, and her handing the can to a WHITE cop, seemed stupid to me. It should have been a black cop. |

Ohmygod, really?
Take a look at the clip here, you'll see what else Pepsi did. Insane. http://www.businessinsider.com/pepsi-ad-starring-kendall-jenner-response-outrage-twitter-2017-4 |
THANK YOU!! |
Do you think they should have picked.... Simone Biles? Someone else who's black and popular? Zendaya? |
It's a generic looking protest with multiethnic people holding signs that say "join the conversation." Not a BLM protest. |
It is white-washed and sanitized. |
