Independent Contractor pay question

| I work a part time independent contracting job and get paid monthly. Every month I get paid at different times and I just found out I won't get paid for last months work for another week. Does anyone know what the laws are regarding how soon IC's should be paid for the work they complete? |

| I don't know if the law covers this, but I would think your specific contract should. Don't have a contract with the company? Demand one. |
