Congratulations! I am loving this journey!

For me, well I started off super organized, like with a schedule hour-to-hour. I think it was good for my kids but mostly I really needed it! I am much more flexible now about letting kids stick with something interesting, explore in depth, and just spend a lot of time reading.

Post with specific questions if you want. Also check out Well-Trained Mind Forum.

What are you nervous about and how old are your kids?

It's fun. Especially at this time of year, when you can take a blanket and a basket of books outside. You've already been doing the REALLY hard work, which is parenting (I assume).

My kids have always started homeschooling in K, so our first day looks like a kid who gets to sit in my lap at the table and play a math game and do some phonics play and a page of handwriting or something. Short and sweet and then outdoors for playtime. I think it's good to start gradually, with math and reading daily, and slowly add on to build up endurance. But your first day is going to look different depending on the ages of your kids and whether or not they've been enrolled in school already.

Good luck and enjoy! You're not going to mess things up irrevocably in one day.
