Opinions?
Like Mekhi Phifer. I love the meaning! |
| Only if you're Black. If so, good choice. If you're white, no. |
Everyone's a little bit racist sometimes......
|
Sorry, 21:17, but I completely agree with this poster and don't find myself to be particularly racist. |
Plus 2 |
| It feels like cultural appropriation if you're not black, although I don't actually know the origin. I know probably 5 or 6 Mekhi's and they're all black. |
+3 Would you name a white girl Priya. No. |
Agree and am also white but always said if I ended up having a mixed son someday I would totally use the name Mekhi. Love it! |
There's nothing wrong with that. I know a white girl named Priya.
|
That's weird. |
| It's on the upswing. I am a teacher and have two students named Mekhi this year, although they are spelled two different ways. |
What's weird about it? A trip to India held special significance to her parents. I think the name suits her quite well. |

| Names like this are harmful in the workplace. Girls like LaTisha and boys like Daquan have a hard time getting selected for job interviews. Never. |
Do you understand what cultural appropriation means? |
