PSAT 8/9-Does MCPS Middle School Provides this test to students ?

| My DS is in 6th grade. We want him to take PSAT 8/9 in 7th Grade. I am not sure whether MCPS school offer this test to MS students. If not, how can he take this test ? Any suggestions ? |

| It was offered to my child in 9th by MCPS. Not sure if you can sign up to take it individually. I think he can take the regular SAT at any age as it is used for certain scholarship and competitive things. |

| Why would you even consider this for your child? It's ridiculous to give it to 9th graders for that matter. |

| My daughters school offered the normal PSAT to all 8th graders taking honors geometry. Nothing for 6th graders. |

| My son took the PSAT in 7th and 8th grade in MCPS. It is for exposure purposes only, so the kids don't get freaked out when they take it in 10th and 11th. No big deal, really. |

The reason the PSAT 8/9 is useful to have is that it is administered at school. |

| Never heard of this being offered in MS. Why not just take the psat in 9th? |

| Not in 8th or 9th, you can probably pay to take it in 9th. They offer it in 10th. |
