What grade, OP? If you're speaking of PK3, here are the results from last year and the year before...

Oyster - went to #14 on the waitlist. I would guess it's a no unless there's more movement than usual.
Bancroft - Went to #14 on the waitlist also. I say yes but things change year to year.
DCB - went to #2 last year and #25 the year before. Depends on whatever caused that big change between the years.
MV - went to #1 last year and #50 the year before. Also depends.

I don't know much about these schools...what caused such a huge jump between the two years for DCB and MV? Did they join the common lottery last year?

She said 2nd grade in the thread title.

I think it's a long shot.

Re MV - it was an expansion year. DCB merged and took on a closing school last year.

Whooops! Completely ignored your title OP. SORRY! Second grade...

Oyster - def zero chance.
Bancroft - zero. No chance.
DCB - went to 30 last year and 49 before. I say yes!
MV - went to #5

I say your best bet is DCB but they didn't reach that high on the WL until school had started. So it'll depend on whether you want to change during the year.

Makes total sense!

Why do people suggest looking at last years numbers as if the same cohort would be repeating the same grade?
