You can apply to more schools at MSDC and be added to WL - post lottery applicants added in order they apply. Better sooner than later.

Are post lottery applications done in the same way as the original applications?

Apply through MSDC, you'll be added to the school's WL in order you apply post-lottery (so you will be on the WL ahead of anyone who applies after you).

Sort of. You'll be added to *your preference tier* ahead of anyone who applies after you. If you apply to an OOB DCPS for PK4, for example, and next month someone with a sibling enrolled or an IB family puts themselves on the waitlist, it will bump you down.

No. Rank in order of true preference. If the lists at your lower ranked schools move, they will call you. You will remain on the list for your higher ranked schools. Shifting your rankings and moving lower ranked schools up just means that if you do get into those schools, you will forfeit any chance to get into the ones that you prefer more.
