when is the earliest day to pick up my DD pills

I am busy doing the week. Today I called Walmart and they said I have to wait 30 days to pick up my DD adderall medication. That would be April 4th. How soon can you pick up your DC pills and where to you go? If I go Sunday she will have only 2 pills left so should that be okay?

I called walmart today and ask them when I picked up the picked up the pills. The lady on the phone said after 30 days..... Did they tell me this because I called? If I go on Saturday will they just give me the pills without any issue?

I don't understand the issue.

Because there are no refills on stimulant medication, I get a new prescription from the doctor about 10 days before we run out. I bring it to the pharmacy and it usually takes them 2-3 days to fill it. Then I pick it up.

The lady on the phone told me that I have to till the 30 day... Not sure why but hopefully it was a misunderstanding

My insurance will only pay every 30 days. I can't get mine early either.

You should see if your insurance will do mail order for the prescription. You won't have to worry about the 30 day requirement and it will just come to your house.

They are a CONTROLLED substance not Advil. She doesn't take more than one pill a day, so yes, if you go Sunday, you should be fine.

This. My insurance (Cigna) will only approve 30 days through a local pharmacy, but gives me 90 through their mail order, and calls me to arrange a refill when I have about 10 days left on the prescription. But I am not on a controlled substance, so those rules may vary. Worth a call to ask though. It's cheaper too.

OP has a legitimate concern. Frequently when I go to the pharmacy they tell me that they are out of stock and can't get more for several days. It is so controlled that even the pharmacists can't get it! I try not to wait until I only have 2 pills left. My insurance and pharmacist seems flexible about letting me pick it up a few days before the 30 days have passed. If you can skip some days, it's not a bad idea to hoard a few in case the pharmacist is out.

In my state, the pharmacy will refill 3 days prior to running out of the last prescription. It has taken me several months to build up a little "back stash." I set up calendar reminders for the exact day to refill so I don't get behind.

Ask the pharmacist to find another pharmacy that has it in stock, and transfer the RX there. I've done this before. It's easier if you go to a chain like Safeway, Walgreens, etc.
