DH and I are coming up with a list of movies to watch as a family. Please add your favorites from your childhood or more recent ones that are must watch.
Back to the Future Star Trek IV-AKA the one with the whales Goonies The Neverending Story Home Alone Three Amigos Hook Cool Runnings Star Wars Space Balls Classics-Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz |
| How old are your kids? |
|
My kids think Back to the Future is stupid - it's pretty out of date. Your others are good.
My kids also like the Martian Star Trek Hoosiers Mission Impossible |
| Honey I Shrunk the Kids is a classic too! |
| Is sandlot still cool? |
| My 7yo loves Labyrinth and Gremlins, in addition to the rest of the stuff on your list. |
|
The Sandlot
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels |
| National treasure |
|
We have watched the following with our 8 yo daughter to:
Hidden Figures Arrival Eagle Huntress Jumanji ET Roman Holiday Ditto for Back to the Future and The Martian |
|
High school musical
School of Rock Sing Street Lemonade Mouth West Side Story -- we're musicians. (more suggs in this groove are appreciated) |
|
Dumb and Dumber
Dodge ball Zoolander Daddy's home Taladega Nights |
|
Two underrated movies we like:
Nim's Island Tintin (nobody seems to have seen it but it's a good adventure and gorgeously animated) Also: Any Muppets movie , especially the two recent ones. Funny to older kids and adults, not just young kids. DD is a teen but all of us love them, especially "Muppets: Most Wanted." Hmmm... Think I'll go put that one on while I do some chores! |
|
For teenagers, I'd add the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
For girls, I love a "A Little Princess " (1995) Babe Princess Bride Enchanted ET Mrs. Doubtfire Harry Potter Big National Velvet (oldie) Karate Kid |
|
Big Fat Liar
Rocketman Just Go with It Jim Carey's two Pet Detective movies |
|
Parent Trap
Ferris Buhler's Day off Beethoven Matilda |
