Birthday invitations to school friends

Anonymous
How do you give out invitations to friends at school? Specifically if they're friends where you don't know the parents? My child wants to invite friends from school to her birthday party and I don't know the parents of any of them. The school doesn't have a directory.

My daughter was handed a stack of enveloped and handed them out throughout the day. Same way she handed out the thank you notes.

I would make sure to have a talk with my child first about it not being obvious... it's very hurtful to be excluded from a party (especially if the child can't invite everyone they want from the class).

Your child's teacher will probably have an email list that she can supply you, if not you can email her & ask for a suggestion (they know what to tell you).

I'm surprised your school doesn't have a directory. Can you ask the teacher if that is really true?

Backpack mail through the teacher.

There are a few kids without published email addresses and so as not to upset people my son gives the envelope addressed to child (some aren't in same class) to his teacher. She gives to appropriate teacher to put in the folder kids bring home each night.

Great idea, give them to your kids teacher!
This way, no hurt feelings & the kids won't lose/misplace them before they get home.

Not all teachers will do it. But you should probably ask the teacher for suggestions. Then if the teacher is willing he/she can volunteer.

Our teacher would not. Since we were new to the school, we didn't have a party. It sucked.

Thanks, I'll try talking to the teacher.
