This is flying under the radar, but TJ's Russian teacher is doing a 4 week immersion program this summer at TJ for grades 6-12.
https://www.americancouncils.org/news/american-councils-lead-startalk-discover-russian-programs No personal experience, but I have heard good things about the Russian teacher. This is mostly being circulated around the TJ community as a head start for TJ kids taking Russian and kids who want to attend TJ and take Russian. But, you do not have to be TJ to apply. If you want serious language immersion, this is probably it. The link above still has the 2016 application, and says Holmes MS. This summer, TJ construction is done and they are using TJ. Here is the current application. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdE6H7SKm_3PqPZ9wgVePMBTa46neiy3nrCIhSoiaMRqLChtg/viewform |

They teach other languages besides Russian, too; some kids take more than one. It is after school and they have camps during DCPS breaks. Mostly kids who attend Murch ES. |
