I read "The Abstinence Teacher" by Tom Perrotta last time. I'm looking for recs that are fun and where the plot does not involve pregnancy or babies!

Just became obsessed with the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. You won't have anything else on your mind while you're reading (and they're each 500 pages, so you can read for 4 days straight)

I am going to "out" my dirty little secret here and recommend my favorite authors. I love romantic suspense. Yes, I know, how dare I suggest something so lowbrow in such an educated, erudite city as Washington DC. Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown, and Suzanne Brockmann tell a really good story. These books have a murder mystery/suspense plot with a romance between the lead characters. They will not tax your brain and you won't be able to put them down.

I love Kristin Hannah and Dorothea Benton Frank, which I think is women's fiction. They are both good writers with ntertaining stories to tell
