It was posted on their social media, which they actually utilize. Also looks like it was done right after their 1st tournament of the summer, which suggests they ran into a rash of injuries. Of course, could be a blowup with the coaches/some parents, the bottom of the roster not happy, or because it's club lacrosse possibly some parents obliviously disclosing an ill-timed European vacation.

Not injuries. It’s been a long time coming, but as for this season they seem to simply have too few players. After many of their players left last year they kept a very small roster which is turning out to be too few at 90 degree tournaments. Also, their best midi stopped coming after first tournament and is not looking likely to return any time soon if at all and word is other good players are looking for new homes.
Thanks. They definitely seem short with just 17 on the roster. The middie part is confusing... stopped coming and then not likely to return anytime soon? If she stopped coming voluntarily, during tournament season, why would it be "not likely" "anytime soon" "if at all"? Why wouldn't it be "she's gone?" Doesn't add up.

Anyway, their results have been slightly better since then, so that wouldn't seem to be that much of a problem. Sounds like they have a great core. Especially after losing a bunch of players last year and still being where they are. By results only, it'd seem what they must've lost last year were offensive players and probably the big need, as their scoring has fallen off since 23-24.

Coppermine does have a good core and if they were smart they would just have a big parent/coach/program meeting and get the air cleared and everything sorted out. At this point it serves them better to stay together and try to pick up a few players (even from out of state) to fill out their roster a little. A few may be able to leave and immediately fit in on another top team, but not all of them which would be unfortunate for a group that has been strong for so long.

The time for that would have been last year when there was a big roster shakeup with them and M&D.

Guess we'll see. They've been able to emerge in part because there's so much fertile ground in their area. With this being the big recruiting year, there may be more than a couple unhappy campers on other top squads.

Go read back of the cage if you want to know what’s going on with Coppermine.

Yeah it seems too little late. And had they wanted to just shore up their roster with girls who are good enough to take a chance on, they could have done it last summer at tryouts but they CHOSE to have so few girls, sending decent girls down to the B team. Which tracks because time and again they've overlooked girls who could have produced had they invested in them because they wanted to run the ball through a few girls only, and now as many predicted this approach has caught up to them.

Nothing really that notable. Didn't copy the link but just google Back of the Cage lacrosse Maryland forum and you should be able to find the crazy 2028 thread pretty high down the list after the pinned ones.

Should be fun to watch on 7/16! Lot’s of moving trash cans on Visi’s campus that day.

They wouldn’t hold tryouts for vacationing players to ride out the season. The post says Coppermine is holding tryouts for “IMMEDIATE OPENINGS” (all caps, in bold) for the 28s. If it’s intended to replace / displace injured players, that would be a diabolical move. What would they do when the injured players come back?
Looks like they were light already? So hoping to make it through the season, but once not enough available, needed short term. And as they were light, longer term. The all caps, all bold is dramatic in both your post and theirs, but certainly can be explained from their side to delineate for people that it isn't for next year (as it's tryout season) and to make sure folks know they are looking for the next several weeks.

The all caps was a direct quote from the original post. Time to look inward on the implosion, not point fingers elsewhere my friend.

My post literally says exactly that. If you didn't want an explanation for what they would do, you shouldn't have asked the question of what they would do.

The Coppermine discussion on BOTC is electric. It appears things may be worse there than we thought. One of the team’s stars recently sat out for a tournament game to rest up for an upcoming Best In Class event — which was the icing on a spoiled buttercream cake. Posters are writing about players being tired of the team revolving around her. Here’s one post, more to come:

“The Coppermine girl that sat out better start looking for a team. The rest of the girls are. She might be the only one left. People are tired of everything being about her and the lady coach allows it. They have destroyed a really good team.”

Meh. We already established here that she left the team at that time. It will be interesting to see what happens the next several weeks, but it's also possible the squad is happy that era is over.
Looks like they're saddling up for MidAtlantic to close out the summer.
