any experience taking Foundations of Technology over the summer?

My kid still needs to do the Tech Ed requirement (he will be a senior next year). I currently have him signed up to take IED next year, but I just saw that enrollment for summer classes starts soon. Has anyone's kid done tech ed over the summer, specifically "Foundations of Technology?" Is FOT easier or harder than IED? Can anyone comment on the differences between the two classes?

I know the summer classes can be a lot of work (he did health online the summer after 9th grade), but if it's not a hard class, it would be nice to free up that class period during senior year if possible.

I don't think rising 9th graders are allowed to take it.
