Elementary School-Aged Kids

What are some great activities (Camps, sports, classes, resources) for children of young elementary school age? I am in the McLean area. TIA! |

That's quite a list of things you're interested in. If you're interested in summer camps, most of the ones in or around McLean are full. Registration begins in Jan/Feb.
For other classes, there are a bunch offered through FFX County's Parktakes -- I just got my catalog for the fall in the mail last week. Spring Hill Rec is in McLean (near Tyson's) and Providence isn't too far to go, either. I haven't found a good gymnastics place near McLean -- I think everyone I know goes to either Gymini in Herndon or JW Tumbles in Arlington....we trek out to Loudoun Gymnastics once a week because their schedule of classes work better for us. Public elementary schools will have a variety of after-school activities available come September. MYS sign-up is already going on for the fall soccer season, starting with U5 on up. McLean Little League is probably also starting their registration, too. You can also check out the McLean Community Center which also offers a range of classes for kids in this age range. |
