Uniform advice please! Where to buy?

Anonymous
DD will start private in the fall (4th grade) and our three options (jumpers) are Land's End, Tommy Hilfiger and Flynn & O'Hara.

Any insight about the fit and quality would be appreciated.

Thank you!!

Check to see if they have a store that sells gently used uniforms. A great source! Personally we like he shirts from Lands End. Our shirts are white so we did buy new shirts. Everything else was from the store.

Assuming this is for NCS
My DD preferred Flynn and O'Hara skirts but LE shirts TH is a new option this year so I don't know much but the girls say the new white dress and my DD thought it was much cuter

If your daughter is very slim Tommy Hillfinger fits better than Lands End but does not wear as well. But I recommend looking at the schools resale shop.

Depends on the item of clothing. Land's End is cheaper (especially with their discounts/sales), but Flynn & O'Hara offers higher quality clothes. For instance, we buy our son's khaki pants at Flynn & O'Hara, because the Land's End pants simply would not last as long. Shirts, we buy at Lands End. Generally, any item of clothing that gets abused, buy at Flynn & O'Hara.

This could be Holton too.

Interesting because my daughter is slim and I have been worried about the cut of Lands End. I was thinking about buying a few things from each to compare...

OP here- thanks for all the advice! My daughter is tall and slim, so I wondered about jumper length as well.

My daughter loves the skort from lands end

My friend said she liked the skirts for F & O because they lasted forever.

Other moms didn't like those because they were too stiff.

Depends on what your kid thinks is comfortable.

Most schools have some type of uniform exchange/used uniform sale or (for most Catholic schools, for free).

Ask the school about this...it'll save you lots of $$$ and get your child a chance to see how the uniform 'fits' in size before you splash out $$$ on new uniforms.
good luck!

How about jcrew pants?

Does anyone have their uniforms altered to fit their kids? Worried I might need to do the waist since skirts that will be long enough will be most likely too big in waist.

Take your DD to Flynn and O'Hara. The sizing is all over the map and hard to order correctly. We buy the shirts from Land's End with a promo code - soft cotton.
