Live in NW DC
Trying to find activity for toddler and preschooler that doesn't involve melting in the heat. We need to get outta the house.. |
Have you considered going for a walk with DC in a stroller at an indoor mall? We do, when the weather is not good. |
Normally a huge heat fan. But, 11wks pregnant it made me nauseous when we ran an errand earlier today, so I just woke up from a nap and told my husband I'd be doing indoor stuff today. |
In about 10 minutes, I'm taking my two year old out on the back deck and let him splash around in one of those cheap plastic pools while I read a book in the shade and drink iced tea. 8) |
It's quite nice in the shade especially since there is a nice breeze.
The kids discovered how much fun water balloons were. After snack time, we're headed for the playground which is nicely shaded. |
MoCo public pool! For $6, we went wading in the baby pool and my 6 mo. old sat in my arms and watched all the toddlers splash around. I had fun and think she did too. |
going to a birthday party in alexandria at 2pm. |
Heh heh heh. 8) |
Took my 19-month-old to georgetown for a walk in the harbor--she loved it! ((works better with two adults -one pushes the stroller, the other chases the kid) |
Slip 'n' Slide, car wash, pool, ice cream shop, Coraline. |
The movie Coraline is not for kids. A friend of mine saw it (an adult) and said it was scary and creepy. |
I agree. DH watched Coraline with my 15yr old while I went to the pool with the little ones. |
Good to know -- I just saw a review and was thinking about picking it up for my step kids. Now, not so much. |
We actually took a walk (it was windy, so it wasn't THAT bad), came home got a drink of water, and then ate popcicles. |
