| And how did you get back on track? On the one hand I could explain away this feeling by saying I'm dealing with more complex work (which I am) in a unique time (new Administration, uncharted territory, etc.), and the third new boss in a year (which included maternity leave for me - though I'm not a first time mom). However, my most objective self assessment is that I am less articulate than ever. It is not uncommon for my current boss to look at me after I've made a comment and say, "and your point is?" Despite this, my boss will sometimes drop by at the end of the day to say what a great job I've done and how I'm my own worst critique. I'm still adjusting to my new boss's style (he likes information with specific recommendations to react to vs. just the information). The thing is, I frequently hear myself speaking and think I sound like a moron! |
