Running milestone for me

Anonymous
I haven't ever been a runner. I've always done elliptical machines, stair master, rowing, yoga and Pilates.

And I know it's lame compared to some people's achievements so that's why I'm sharing only anonymously....but I ran my first full mile without stopping this AM. Yay!

Congrats. I've been running off and on since high school but I'm not a natural runner. Am slow, get winded easily and HATE hills. Some days I find even doing a mile a real struggle (like today) when other days I do up to 4 without big issues. It's great exercise tho and when I'm in the zone, I enjoy it very much. Good luck!

That's awesome, OP! I just started running back in October and I remember that milestone excitement, too. Hard to imagine it now, but soon enough you'll be running a 5K without stopping. Good luck!

Thanks all! I will for sure keep trying to go longer and faster. Luckily my dog comes with me and is totally game and has amazing endurance.

That's awesome OP! I am 47 and started running 4 years ago. I have never forgotten the excitement of my first mile. Enjoy every milestone .

That is awesome!

I ran a lot when I was younger and have been an on and off runner since having kids. Getting back into running was hard and the first non stop mile gave me such a sense of accomplishment. I get that feeling every time I go further and the confidence keep building.
