ok - someone recently told me about this place -- it's an all inclusive family resort. when you get there ou are assigned a vacation nanny who works for you from 9-440 every day! if you don't need her and want just family time during some part of that, she will tidy your room or stock your refrige... and if you need her in the evenings, it's an extra cost of 6 dollars an hour....
sounds GREAT! has anyone been? is the place nice? are the nannies good? tia! |
| I have heard about this resort too, and would love to get feedback. What do the nannies do witht he children? Is there a kids' club? |
| Search the DCUM listserv archives for FDR and Jamaica - I'm nearly certain I have seen one or two RAVE reviews. There are definitely nannies and I think a kids' club, too. |
| I have a friend who went there and absolutely loved it. She has one son who is three and the nanny kept him busy almost every day. Seemed like a lot of money to spend, but considering it's all inclusive if you can afford it just go. |
| My brother and other friends have been, and it is true, you do get your own nanny when you check in. They don't have to keep the kids all day if you don't want it, but will take them to play, get breakfast, whatever you need. The only down sides are that the beach at Franklyn D. (and it's sister resort, Pebbles) isn't as fabulous as other beaches in Jamaica, but it's still nice. As with many all-inclusives, the food is OK. But the help with childcare is great. |
| Also check out www.tripadvisor.com for reviews. |
So why didn't they just leave the kid at home? |
| FDR has two resorts in Jamaica, Pebbles and FDR Resort. Can anyone comment on which is better? |
| As of 5 years ago, FDR resort was much better. Pebbles was in dire need of renovation. FDR was the only one with vacation nannies. Whether or not that's still true, I don't know. Check TripAdvisor. |
