Assisted hatching

I'm 40 and just had a failed IVF TTC #2 at CFA (had 3 embryos transferred on day 5). I have a frozen blast and am planning on having it transferred a couple of weeks from now. Do they automatically do AH; should I insist on having it done if they don't suggest it? Also, since I just had the embryo frozen and will have it transferred in two weeks, is it reasonable to ask for the money back for the "yearly embryo storage" or is it a lost battle? I mean it'll only be stored for 1 month - and they charge $600 for the year. Maybe they can prorate the amount?

I know at Shady Grove they automatically do AH on frozens. I think you are stuck with the yearly fee even if you decide to use your frozens early. Good Luck!!

Dr. Sacks, at CFA, automatically does AH with FETs, unless it is hatching on its own, or you request not to have it done. I can not speak for the other doctors. I doubt they will prorate the storage fee. I have never had luck getting fees reduced there.

I would definitely ask about getting back the storage fee. After all you are going to pay for the FET anyway. Dr. Sacks does AH, but he's not sure if it helps (that's what he told me anyhow).
