follicle size on trigger day for IVF?

it's so confusing because although i have 1 or 2 that are around 18/19 mm, most are more like 15-17 mm, so i think they'll give me one more day of meds. i am stressed about losing the bigger ones vs. losing the smaller ones

It's OK, 18/19 are not too big still. If they got to 23 and they still wanted you to go extra day then I would rebel.

yes, I am taking cetrotide, which is like ganirelix. if they're 18/19 today, they'll be 20-21 tomorrow, i assume, when i trigger. and then they grow more after trigger?

OP herE: just got the call. trigger is tonight. now I'm concerned they're not big enough. the biggest ones are all around 18, and there are a bunch of 16, 15, 14 etc.

I had a LOT of eggs in that 15-18 mm range plus 1 or 2 larger ones when I triggered. They got 30 mature eggs.

that's a good size. On the cycles that didn't work for me i was triggered when things were in the 20's. Cycles that worked were in the teens.

You will be fine! I was with a clinic that always triggered when at least two leads were 18 mm. Even though there were lots of smaller ones around 15, I never had trouble retrieving them all or with maturity.

my old clinic always seem to trigger too late. fingers crossed for a good outcome, op!

Thanks. That's encouraging. Hopefully the ones around 15 are good. I didnt trigger until 2 am so they had a whole day to keep growing from the scan that morning also.

Just following up, they got 9 eggs, 7 of which were mature. I was hoping for more like 11-12 eggs, because they saw at least that many follicles. 5 fertilized (I posted about that on another thread), so we'll see what the quality is like. I don't really know if they maybe should have gone another day???
