Poll: good backpack + lunch box combo for K

There are a bunch of threads on this, but they are long and hard to wade through.

If you are happy with your backpack/lunch box combo for kindergarten, could you please post what it is?

I don't have specific recommendation, but I would have at least 1 spare lunch box. Boxes often get lost or ruined from repeated spills.

Lands End for both.

We have a Jansport backpack that has held up great. And LL Bean lunchbox.

Before committing to a lunchbox think about what you need to fit it it - will you you using a bento type box or thermos or wrapping a sandwich in foil... our first lunchbox didn't fit the bento and water bottle so make sure it can fit your preferred way of packing.

Pottery Barn Kids backpack and lunch box. We use the Yum Box and they fit nicely into the square PBK lunch boxes. Plenty of room in the back pack for the lunch box, folders, jackets, sweatshirts and other assorted items they tote around at this age.

The Circo backpack and matching lunchbox DS picked out with excitement from Target in August is still going strong. We looked at Lands End and I wasn't thrilled about spending $40+ on a 5-year-old's backpack, and he wasn't thrilled about the designs.

Both my kids have Lands End. They have lasted two grades so far. They still look like they are in great shape.

Lands End. Your kid will get tired of the backpack before it snows the slightest amount of wear.

Can't remember exactly what time of year it was, but Lands End does great sales. I got DS his backpack for like $20. This is the first year he's used it full-time but it's done fine. The lunch box is LL Bean and has held up great for several years but it does get stinky.

I liked the small pottery barn kids backpack and lunchbox for Kindergarten. My older son also had one and they've held up for years. Lands End backpacks and lunch boxes are also great. One year we purchased Garnet Hill backpacks and lunch boxes and they were terrible. There were rips and holes before the 2nd term of school.

pottery barn small backpack and square lunchbox. They will have some on sale mid summer before the new patterns come out in late summer

Garnet Hill has kindergarten-size backpacks and matching lunch boxes. They usually run a sale in the summer wherein you get the lunchbox for free if you buy the backpack.

LL Bean backpack and matching lunchbox. My kids have been using them for 3 years now with no issues. Every week I'll put the lunch boxes in the washing machine and they still look great.
