My friend just had the cutest birthday party for her 7 year-old DD

My friend has a DD who just turned 7 and did the cutest party! The theme was "Animal Adoption". She bought kitty and puppy stuffed animals and each child got to "adopt" one of their choice. They then got to choose a collar. She had pre-made adoption certificates and printed them out. Each girl got to name her new pet and write it in on the adoption certificate. They then got to take them to the "vet" where they had a station set up with toy medical stuff and a check list. She had bagged "treats" - cocoa puffs as doggie treats and gold fish crackers as kitty treats. The cake was a dog cake she made. Seriously the cutest party I have ever heard of. I wish my own DD had been there- she is older and I know my friend b/c our DS's are friends. She hosted at her house and after she told me about it I asked her to send me pics Anyway, if anyone is hosting a party at their home and their kiddos love animals, figured I would mention b/c I was blown away by how cute. She got the collars and stuffed animals at the Dollar Tree and said she maybe spent $250 TOTAL for 8 kids, including her own DD.

$250 for 8 kids at home sounds like a lot.

Really?? I feel like anything under $300 is pretty good, when it includes food, activities, favors, cake, etc.

Yeah, what's the breakdown there? You said she went to the Dollar Store for the animals and collars. Maybe that was $50. $10 for the goldfish and cereal. Where did the other $190 go???

Come on people. Cake, decorations, invitations... have none of you ever thrown a party before?

Very cute, too bad didn't know about for my 8yo as I think 9 for next party will age her out. And $250 for 8?? Sounds like it was worth every penny to me...knowing of I did I'd be getting the $15 animals so I'd be at many multiples!!!!

I love this idea! I am stealing this idea for my own DD for her 5th birthday. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds cute, but how does this entertain for 2 hours? You pick out a stuffed animal, write its name down and give it a toy bone after waiting in line for a vet?

My daughter is only 4, but I don't see this being of interest for more than 20 minutes. What did they do with the rest of the time?

Sounds exhausting.

could probably just go to build a bear for $30 a kid -- $240

Probably. This sounds more enjoyable, though, and I'm not a huge fan of cute parties.
