Invite to student leadership summit in Germany

We got something that wasn't just a form letter. It's a 10 day student trip to Germany and Switzerland. It's from someone with an FCPS email address.

Does anyone know why we got this? Why is my high schooler being invited? If it was just advertising a student trip, I don't understand why it has her name on it and came from FCPS.

Got the same thing in APS Peachjar for our middle schooler.


It's just mass marketing, OP. Don't confuse this with some honor or something. (I'm not trying to be rude -- just letting you know).

Agree. Be careful. Also, if your child does well on PSAT, be prepared to receive a packet from Harvard encouraging him/her to apply. DD tested very well, but I also understand requirements for Harvard. One of her classmates fell for it and applied--his resume was no where near as good as DD's, but the mom was naïve and really thought that Harvard wanted him. Good way to get application fees. Also, helps lower Harvard's acceptance rate. The more that apply, the more you can reject.
