Barcroft or Drew Model ??

Anonymous
DD is in Montessori K program now, we have to deiced whether Barcroft or Drew for her elementary, our older sons all went to ATS, so I am really confused now. Drew is a bit too far for commute.

Could someone provide any difference about Barcroft since the school has the new principle?
And also how do you feel about Drew?

thanks in advance

If it's Drew Montessori, stay there. They'll move to Henry soon enough (2019) and that should be closer for you.

+1. Don't be overly concerned about the commute to Drew; the new Henry location is probably better for you. We live in Alcova Heights, and while Barcroft is the neighborhood school, our house is just a short walk from Henry. Our kids also go to ATS, so I don't have any first hand knowledge of Drew or Barcroft, but we have neighbors with kids at both schools, and they seem happy.

Remember that Barcroft has a year round schedule. That might be a good thing or a bad thing for you, but it's something to consider.

I can't imagine a new principal was able to overcome those demographics in one year. It's very sad, because that school was on an upswing.

Drew. Barcroft is in dire straits. Lost its AP when he quit mid year. Neighbirhood gossip is that the principal is leaving too. Will take several years to rehab that school.

It will Take redrawn boundaries and increased gentrification.
