Where are the best places to stay in Miami with a 18 month old? I want to be near the zoo and the beach and be able to take long walks. Thanks.

I think it will be hard to be both near the beach and near the zoo - they are not particularly close to each other. Since the zoo is likely only a one-day visit, I'd recommend staying at the beach and then just taking a trip to the zoo. The zoo is south of Miami Beach, so if you want to maximize proximity, stay in the South Beach area, or maybe even Key Biscayne. Either way, you're going to have to get off the barrier island onto the mainland to visit the zoo. If you don't want to stay at the beach, the Coconut Grove area of Miami is not far from the zoo, and the Key Biscayne beaches would still be reasonably accessible.
