Did you get more or less eggs than you were seeing on u/S during IVF

Anonymous
My friend had 4 follicles both fresh IVF and got 10 eggs 7 mature one cycle and 10 eggs 10 mature second cycle. Is that typical to get more than the follicles you're seeing?

That does sound unusual. I had several rounds of IVF and each time got the same number of eggs or less than the number of follicles .... But I'm a sample size of one ...

I've done 3 egg retrievals. For one I had the exact number, another one I had 1 more. The other one I had less--far less--but I believe the dr. doing the retrieval lacked the skill to access my hard-to-get-to ovary.

I had 12 on u/s. Got 17, but only 12 were mature.

I had 26 on ultrasound and got 22. 16 were mature.

PP who had 26 on U/S, the tech really sat there measuring all 26? I got 23 eggs in my cycle, and they never counted. They just said "it's a lot, we don't need to count." and they always measured a few of the biggest ones and a few right behind that in size

Yeah i had a lot and it turned out they were missing them in the count. I think they never counted more than 25 (and maybe 15-20 looked big enough) but then they retrieved 34 and 31 were mature.

Yep, the tech counted, and then measured nearly all of them. This was the morning before my trigger. Slow morning at that particular office, I guess!
We were concerned about OHSS and carefully monitoring my E2. Don't know if that's why she paid close attention to follicle count/size or not.

I always had less if you measure by mature eggs.
14 were growing. And I ended up with 8 or 9 mature. Baseline AFC= 14 to 20.

But everyone is different.
