Help me pick one! I think I'm stuck between the Roosevelt and the Monteleone. Roosevelt is about $75 more a night right now.
Requirements are a nice outdoor pool, in the French Quarter but not right on Bourbon Street, and a romantic room (I know it won't be huge but not too cramped) for just me and my husband. We're going for 5 days for music, good food, relaxation, and good times. |
| I always stay at the Hotel Monteleone and I love it! Very romantic, love the decor and ambience. |
| We ate at Domenica in the Roosevelt and really liked it. The hotel is bigger than the Monteleone. If I was choosing, I would go with the The Roosevelt. It can be really noisy staying in the French Quarter. |
| Roosevelt. |
k We stayed at the Omni Royal and I wouldn't necessarily recommend. Walking past the Monteleone I loved it and wished we'd stayed there. |
| The Roosevelt is a super nice hotel, I have stayed there a few times. Convenient to everything but not so noisy I can't sleep. |
| Oh, 9:19 here -- forgot to say we've stayed in AirBNBs the last couple of NOLA trips and I actually like that the best. usually in the Garden District. |

We stayed in the Monteleone and it was charming and a great location but the noise was awful. Yelling drunk people until 2-3am, police sirens, street sweepers at 5am, trash trucks at 6am. We didn't sleep a wink. Misery. I'm not aware of a pool available to the Monteleone.
We stay at the Windsor Court now and it's much quieter. It's also where anyone related to Hollywood stays when they're in NOLA, so you see some interesting people in the hotel bar. Nice outdoor pool with waitstaff! |
