why was the post about the pre-school losing a 2 y.o,. child deleted from General Parenting?

I posted that same question - about the deletion - to which at least one person replied, and that meta-thread was deleted as well. What's the deal?

The message was cross-posted to both the preschool and General Parenting forums. It belongs in the preschool forum and can still be found there. A "sticky" message at the top of the General Parenting forum says: "Please post messages to the most appropriate forums. Wrongly posted messages will likely be deleted."

Also, I'm trying to discourage cross-posting.
