I've looked online and I'm confused. So hoping someone has done this

Yes, always park there for several days without any problems. Very convenient - you park and you are there!
I guess you probably can park at other lots at BWI but why create an additional hassle when you don't have to?

Yes, there is long-term parking in two connected garages.

The MARC website has good info on the parking at the BWI Amtrak station: https://mta.maryland.gov/marc-parking-details/#BWIparking.

may of 2018 - there is long term overnight parking at the BWI train station parking lot adjacent to the Amtrak/Marc rr station. cost is $8 or $9 a day. I lost 20 minutes finding my car on return so pay attention with detail to where you park in the garages. lost another 20 minutes as there are two garages next to each other, and the gates were malfunctioning on the garage I parked in w/o any attendant. to get out had to go up to about 3rd level thus allowing me to cross into the other garage - that 2nd garage had an attendant so I was able to exit.

Yes, $9 a day, very easy. I have parked there for anywhere from 1-10 days no problem at all.

Makes sense for flights not for train.

Can you reserve , or are there enough spaces so that’s unnecessary?
