| Why is it a woman can sleep with as many woman/men that she cares to but if a man should have any relations with another man, he is disqualified? They are already testing the blood, why exclude a group? |
|
Because the risk of HIV transmission from male/male sex is much higher.

But the risk of transmission for men who have safe sex with a small quantity of men or whom are monogamous in long term relationships is lower than a heterosexual man who has unprotected sex with many women. As a society we are okay with men loving other men and perhaps even kissing, but not okay with them actually having sex. |
|
Because this world still hates gay men, despite all the hiding behind politically correct causes and facades.
It doesn't matter that you tied a red ribbon to your car antenna in 1998 to show your support for AIDS sufferers. The fact that you don't want our blood now in 2017 speaks volumes |
| It has nothing to do with homophobia. Men who have sex with men are far more likely to have HIV than women who have sex with women. |
This is a naive and uneducated response. |
|
Yeah, but the gross-out factor is 100% homophobia. Or, you know, the important 54%.
As mentioned above, it's not a policy based on great science. (Canada has just lowered its waiting period for men who have had sex with men from five years to one.) |
