| Our first child took 18 months to conceive when DH and I were 29 and 27, respectively. After a year of TTC, DH and I each had tests done and there were no apparent issues, and I was just about to start clomid when I got pregnant. We've been trying for #2 for 6 months now (charting, temping, etc) and still no dice. We're a few years older, but at 31 I'm not AMA. Would you call the doctor at this point? I don't want to burn valuable time, but I'm not sure if they would do anything at this point since it hasn't been a year yet. |
| yes, I would. good luck! |
| I would call |
| Call. You can always tell them it's been a year -- not like they would know. |
Don't lie unless you would like potential unnecessary intervention. I would just be honest. Also, I wouldn't call your OB, I would make an appt with an RE. Given that it took 18 months last time, I'd imagine they would be willing to do a workup sooner. |
The initial tests at an RE are the same regardless and the question is whether insurance will cover. |
