cramping mid cycle

it has been about 13 months since dc was born. we are trying for a second. my period returned about 8 months ago, but unlike before, i have cramping mid-cycle. initially the cramping was strong and lasted a couple of days, but it is now uncomfortable for only a day. this cramping comes about 2 days after the date i am supposed to ovulate. last month i miss carried and i am a little concerned about the cramping, but not sure it warrants a visit to teh dr. any ideas?
